The quilt is almost done…
I just need to add the outer border. I put it up on the design wall. I really like it, but the design doesn’t show up like I want it to, thanks to the fabric choices. Fabric makes such a big difference in quilting!
I also noticed that I have some ripping to do…

The block with the pins is flipped the wrong way. I’m surprised…I usually don’t notice such things until after the quilt is quilted and bound.
I’ll finish it later. I have another sample to make. I started cutting this afternoon. My plan was to make it scrappy. When I was looking for fabric, I saw the 2017 Quilt Minnesota fabric I’ve done nothing with since bringing it home. I only bought three 1 yard pieces–the gray with the birds, the Lady Slipper, and the gray words. I piddled around in EQ7 last night, planning it all out. I realized this morning that I would need more fabric to go with it.
I looked some more, and found the PERFECT fabric! It’s large scale print left over from a Timeless Treasures project I did several years ago. I cut the large blocks, luckily, I had enough–I cut one a quarter inch too small. I did have to get some solid black for framing strips. You’d think I’d have some of that. (While searching I found few things I knew I had, just not where.) I also have 5 coordinating fabrics to go along with it.
Can’t wait to get back at it again!
