Today’s plan
I had a nice surprise in my email inbox this morning, an email from Island Batik, with the link to the new fabrics for Fall/Winter 2020.
I need to work on new designs and patterns. I haven’t had any new patterns lately. Life got in the way, and there was no time for creativity. I like working with Island Batik because of their time frame. I have a month to submit proposals. If any of my proposals are accepted, I have until April 1, 2020, to submit the yardage requirements. The quilt(s) is(are) due to the warehouse by April 15, 2020. That gives me time to design, write and have tested a new pattern. No need to rush!! I like that!
I worked on the Shop Hop designs yesterday. I used the 2020 fabrics in several of my patterns and I’ll take my laptop with me when I work next week. We can then decide which will be used for our shop samples.
I also started to figure out the yardage needed for my new pattern. This pattern is one that I believe will be easy to include several sizes, from tabletopper to bed size. I’d like to find more pattern testers. If you are interested, please let me know.
I need to go through boxes –again– to find some things Mike is missing. I’ll be looking for Christmas decorations too. I need to get going on decorating. I have tablerunners and pillow covers piled on the couch in the living room, but that’s as far as I make it with that.
Here are pictures of the wildlife quilt I wrote about on Tuesday. I haven’t worked on it since then, but I now know how I will be adding the diagonal corners. I hadn’t intended to do this quilt until January or February. I wasn’t sure how much border fabric I needed. I brought the bolt home with me. In order to know how much fabric was necessary, I decided to sew it up. With the large center and large blocks framing the center, it didn’t take long to piece. Once I did that, I returned the bolt back to the shelves.
Back to work for me!
