A new purse
I finished a sewing a purse this morning. I started it on Monday. Another project was fighting me, and the tab holding the strap on my purse finally came off. So new purse it was.
The pattern is Miss Midi Purse by Lidia K Froehler of A Cotton Treasure Design
I saw it in my weekly email from QuiltWoman, and liked the look of it.
The front…
The back……with a zippered pocket.
The inside showing the three zippered pockets, each with an open pocket on the front…There are credit card slots in the front… …and the back.
I added a hook for extra keys between the zippered pockets.
There is binding around the outer edges. I handstitched the binding. I seldom (if ever) handstitch binding on quilts, but I did for this…way too much bulk to fight it. (And my thumbs reminded me why I machine finish my binding!)
I liked the instructions, I liked her way of doing things. The zippers were so much easier to put in than I’ve seen in other patterns.
Will I make another purse from this pattern? Probably, after the memory of handstitching the binding and finishing the side inserts grows dim.
The fabric I used was from the leftover Timeless Treasures Anglefish fabric I used for Starburst a little over a year ago.
Now to clean up the sewing table, and resort the fabric.
