Tied in Knots
Back in 2018 I used Island Batik’s Eclectic line for this pattern. You can read about that here.
I’ve also used Banyan Batik’s Lustre line for the pattern. I made three quilts using that fabric.
Connecting Threads also featured it in there catalog in the Sweet Splendor line.
So…
This pattern has been around the block a time or two.
Today I got an email from someone who, as far as I can figure, doesn’t like the format of the pattern. I write patterns the way I like to sew. I HATE patterns that tell me to cut a gazillion pieces before telling me what to do with them. Yes, I know about labeling, and I do encourage labeling in my patterns. I prefer to cut what I need, set aside the chunk of uncut fabric, sew what I have cut, THEN cut for the next step.
I’ve started to put a scissor symbol by the cutting instructions so that anyone who wants to cut it all first can do so.
I went through the pattern and listed where each step is for cutting. I hope that will help her.
In going through the pattern, looking for cutting steps, I came to Step 6. Then the next step also Step 6. Not sure why it took 3+ years to finally comes to light!
So if you have Tied in Knots, rest assured that quilting and binding is really Step 7!
Now I must go and add it to the Corrections page!
Happy Quilting!
