It feels like both. I’ve been working all week to get patterns uploaded to Payhip. It’s been an ordeal, but I think I’ve done it, correctly, I hope. Yesterday a package arrived from Northcott with fabric for several of the designs that have been in their Look Books. First is Santa’s Tree Farm, see it […]
Tied in Knots
Back in 2018 I used Island Batik’s Eclectic line for this pattern. You can read about that here. I’ve also used Banyan Batik’s Lustre line for the pattern. I made three quilts using that fabric. Connecting Threads also featured it in there catalog in the Sweet Splendor line. So… This pattern has been around the […]
Receding
I had the pleasure of designing a tablerunner with Island Batik fabrics. The fabric is Mystery and is shipping to stores now. The pattern is Receding. It is 42″ x 17″. I made several samples with fabric from my stash before making the “real” one with the Mystery fabric. Some looked good, some not-so-good. This […]
Another holiday quilt
I wanted to make the Christmas tree panel quilt next. I have it on my design wall so I have a Christmas tree in my sewing room. Once again, I wanted to make it reversible. I knew I could piece a heart with Log Cabin blocks. I used EQ7 to determine the size of blocks […]
Holiday wallhangings
When I was looking for fabric for the dresser scarf recently, I rediscovered fabric I had forgotten I had. I am 99.99% sure all of these came from Mill Ends Textiles in St. Cloud many years ago. Here are two. This is another. I decided that the Nativity scene would be the first one I […]
A Christmas quilt, part 2
The blocks are pieced. I foundation pieced. I have some really thin paper. I have no idea how it came to be in my sewing room, it’s been in the cabinet for years. I pieced 15 8½” x 11″ blocks which I trimmed down to about 8″ x 10½”. But first of all, I had […]
A Christmas Quilt
I think I’m making it for a dresser scarf. We replaced the front door a month or so ago. The door that was on when we moved here had two windows way up at the top, too high to look through (unless you are very tall). I wanted something so I could see who was […]
Copyright? Crediting designers??
I did a post about a customer quilt I sewed. This morning I had an email telling me that I had a comment awaiting moderation. I actually had three, two of which were very obviously spam, and I immediately marked them as spam. The other I suspected was spam (going by the name), but it […]
Summer Night Soiree
I finished piecing a quilt top for a customer. Summer Night Soiree is a free pattern from Henry Glass Fabrics, the designer is Salt Meadow Studios for Henry Glass. I sewed the sample for the Creamery. I switched some of the fabrics around, I didn’t like where some of the fabrics were placed…so I did […]
Correction to Just Blocks 2
Step 4ff] should read: ff] Sew Unit dd (that’s the unit you made 2 lines up) to the top of Unit ee (that’s the unit you made 1 line up). It is now Unit ff. Sorry for the confusion!
A beginner sewer class
This is something I hope to be able to use with my two little quilters. I know their mom signed up for it also–can’t have too many people setting good examples! Please check it out if you know someone who can benefit!
