Triple Play

Recently Triple Play came home to me. The fabric is one of Island Batik’s Spring/Summer 2020 lines, Cocoa Cabana. Coco Cabana is designed by Kathy Engle, and will be available in stores in November/December of this year.

I designed this pattern several years ago, and used Studio 180 Designs Corner Beam® ruler. I’m not a fan of templates, so this ruler is the answer to that!

This pattern has several layouts to choose from. The tablerunner above uses all the blocks. The next two below have the blocks divided into two separate quilts, one with the ‘pointy’ blocks…

…and one with the ‘chunky’ blocks.

In addition to the tablerunner above, all the blocks can be arranged in the same quilt as this one:

There are numerous ways to position the blocks to get interesting layouts. Play around until you find one you like!

A close up of the quilting.

In some patterns I will include templates for someone who doesn’t have, or want, the ruler. This one has just too many pieces, it does require the ruler, it’s sooo much easier with the ruler.

I’ve made several other quilts in the first tablerunner layout, but none in the other layouts. Except in EQ–I’ve made a gazillion in EQ!
