It feels like both. I’ve been working all week to get patterns uploaded to Payhip. It’s been an ordeal, but I think I’ve done it, correctly, I hope. Yesterday a package arrived from Northcott with fabric for several of the designs that have been in their Look Books. First is Santa’s Tree Farm, see it […]
Ahhhhhhhh……..Sewing what I want to sew……….the “Magic 60”
I have one of my Island Batik Spring/Summer projects done, another up to the quilting stage, and FINALLY I am starting on a twin size quilt. I’ve been freakin’ out over this…I need to have it done before the end of the month, and I just wasn’t able to get to it — until today. […]
A new purse
I finished a sewing a purse this morning. I started it on Monday. Another project was fighting me, and the tab holding the strap on my purse finally came off. So new purse it was. The pattern is Miss Midi Purse by Lidia K Froehler of A Cotton Treasure Design I saw it in my […]
A Lesson Learned…I hope!
Thursday and Friday I worked on a tablerunner with the new fabric I received from Island Batik for the spring catalog. It’s Gathering Friends, a pattern that I’ve made 3 times (or is it 4??). By pressing carefully, the seams will all nest against each other, helping to eliminate some of the bulk in the […]
Another quilter’s take on Ribbon Fall
Diane contacted me to find out where she could buy Ribbon Fall. She then downloaded a pdf from QuiltWoman. Over the weekend she sent me a picture of her finished quilt. I love the fabrics she used for the ribbons–they sparkle! Diane also changed the ribbons. I had the ribbons above and below the panel, […]
Beams #3
Since the “waste triangles” from the second Beams quilt I sewed failed to give the results I wanted to emphasize, I decided to make another. For this one I decided to use Christmas fabrics. I searched through my stash. I have all that lovely cardinal and poinsettia fabric with the gold accents. Unfortunately, I was […]
Smaller Beams
On Friday I finished the smaller Beams quilt. I have produced the perfect example of what not to choose for your fabric. For the Corner Beams I chose two fabrics that coordinated, one a small busy print, the other a larger, more open print. Unfortunately, they are so close that there isn’t much contract. That […]
A smaller Beam
This is the beginning of another Beams tabletopper.
Island Batik project
Last summer I submitted several proposals to Island Batik using their new Spring/Summer 2018 fabrics. One of them was accepted. This is Tied in Knots tablerunner featuring the Eclectic Garden line. A few views of the quilting. The center of the runner… An end… A corner… Back in 2015 when I first designed this quilt, […]
The second finish
This is the quilt I finished Friday. Again I’m only showing the quilting on the back. This isn’t the actual color of the fabric, but the quilting shows up much better this way. This was done entirely with the walking foot.
A finish – as yet unnamed
I’ve been working on patterns for two small quilts. Yesterday I finished quilting and binding one. Linda at the Old Creamery Quilt Shop told me I should teach a class using a Studio 180 ruler. Since I love those rulers, I immediately agreed. I looked through my EQ files and found several that could use […]
